Fashi-off's style: Barock 'n Roll

A volte le reminiscenze di qualche decennio fa non possono far altro che bene...

Che sia una fan dei tanto rimpianti anni 80 ormai si sa...mi dispiace averli vissuti solo da bambina, quando la fantasia e la creatività imperava indiscussa durante la fashion week milanese.

Per onorare il compianto caro Gianni Versace, a 15 anni dalla sua morte per omicidio a Miami, ho deciso di indossare un qualcosa che lo potesse ricordare, o che anche solo potesse avvicinarsi al suo geniale estro fastoso e baroccheggiante.

Per sottolineare che la moda è ispirazione, linguaggio globale e indiscusso veicolo di comunicazione tra giovani e non solo.

Un pantalone stretch e ultra slim con la fantasia foulard arricchita da quadranti rossi e verdi con catene decorantive, una t-shirt bianca, un blazer nero e delle decoltè con platform rigorosamente black.

Pochi gli accessori per questo look abbastanza importante e che non passa di certo inosservato, solo un bracciale dorato con multi catene della collezione Versace per H&M.

You know I'm a very fanatic fan of the regrets '80s ... I'm sorry for that I was a baby in those years, when the imagination and creativity reigned unchallenged during the Milan Fashion Week.

To honor the late Gianni Versace, 15 years after his death for murder in Miami, I decided to wear something that it could remember him, or you could even get close to his brilliant talent and sumptuous Baroque.

To emphasize that fashion is inspiration, and the undisputed global language of communication for the people.

A stretch and ultra slim trousers with scarves allover print with chains embellished, a white t-shirt, a black blazer and a pair of black platform pumps.

Few accessories for this look and not important enough to pass unnoticed, just a gold bracelet with multi chains of the Versace collection for H&M.

Otto anni sono passati dall'ultima collezione Couture presentata dall'iconica casa dalla testa di Medusa. E se è vero che la linea Alta Moda per una maison rappresenta una sorta di cartina tornasole, il riscontro per Versace è decisamente positivo. Con la capsule per H&M, il cui primo round ha praticamente totalizzato un sold out, si tratta davvero di una stagione aurea per il direttore creativo Donatella Versace. E la mente di tutti gli appassionati di moda - o di chi semplicemente è cresciuta come noi negli anni Novanta - corre al fenomeno “Supermodels” esploso tra il grande pubblico con la sfilata Versace A/I 1991/92.

In passerella per questa primavera estate Haute Couture una decina di scultorei abiti bustier, con lunghi spacchi, elemento "classico" della Maison che tanto ci ricorda il sensualissimo abito indossato dalla top Elisabeth Hurley a fianco del suo Hugh Grant alla prima di "Quattro Matrimoni e un Funerale".
Power in tutti i sensi possibili, questa l'allure che possente si libera tra i garments vitaminici presentati all'Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts a Parigi. Cristalli Swarovski e preziosissimo pizzo, ancora chiffon, seta e inserti metallici, chiosano come una materica firma della stilista, un messaggio che si insinua tra le creazioni: forza, bellezza e sensualità, questa la ritrovata donna Versace. Gambe e spalle sono i suoi punti focali per un corpo che, grazie al taglio e alle forme slim e sinuose, diviene protagonista di un grande retour.

Eight years ago the latest Couture Collection presented by the iconic fashion house of the Medusa. And if it's true that the Haute Couture line of a maison de mode is a sort of litmus test, the feedback is very positive for Versace. With the capsule collection for H&M, which scored a first round basically sold out, it seems to be really a golden season for the creative director Donatella Versace. 
And the mind of all fashion enthusiasts - or those who simply grew up in the Nineties like us - runs to the phenomenon of "Supermodels" exploded with one fashion show in particular: Versace F/W 1991/92.
On the catwalk for this Spring Summer Haute Couture about ten sculptural bustier garments with long slits, "classic" element of the House that reminds us of the sensual dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley at the première of "Four Weddings and a Funeral". 
"Power in all possible ways", this is the powerful inner allure that is released among Versace's vitamin garments presented at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Swarovski crystals and precious lace, chiffon, silk and metal inserts, as a signature of the designer, a message of strength, beauty and sensuality. Legs and shoulders are the brand's focal points scupltured for a body that, thanks to the cut and slim and sinuous fit, becomes the protagonist of a great retour.

Fringe that give movement and liveliness.
Fringe that give personality and dynamism. Fringe for loving or for hating.
Since 1920 are fashion protagonist, Charleston style with Vionnet and Worth that create bright scenography and luminous. Then comes Elvis and '50s, hippies and '70s. There're ever present into our style, taking shapes more or less elegant, country or rock. And for 2011? Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Gucci, Vuitton make them protagonist for their amazing show. Like or not, give always  a big impact.

Style Notes: Psychobilly Generation

For someone life philosophy, for others a trend, and for others also a way of escape from daily stereotypes that tear apart its banality. We're talking about "Psychobilly"!
It was born as musical genre from punk rock and '50s rock 'n roll inspirations. The term was for the the fist time used in a Johnny Cash lyrics "One piece at a time" referring a Psychobilly Cadillac. Following The Cramps described their genre using the terms paired with "rockabilly voodoo" on flyers adverting their concert. But the really first group is that of "The Meteors" an english apolitical band, was the 80s.
The Genre develop influences a lot of young people, today are many, even if still a rare phenomenon.
For fashion point of view, the genre is a matching of different styles inspired by punk rock for short hair, piercing and crests, by rock 'n roll for the high wisps, grease, by '50 for Betty Page curves and Marilyn Monroe, by burlesque and circus style.
Here a style summary. For girls: leopard animal print is a must! High waist Pin up's pants, red lips, fringe Betty Page style, super blond curls, eyeliner, flowers in the hairs, tatoos, vintage fishnet tights. For boys: a mix of John Travolta and a dreamers version of Morrisey, red, black and white as colors, vintage bouling shirts, college jackets, studded leather jackets, black slim fit pants. Look the detail: white short socks shown!
Also in the last fashion show we can see this important influence: from Jil Sander to Versace, from Lanvin to John Varvatos and Bottega Veneta. And now, are you ready to brush up an old record player, try to play the wricking (their typical dance), watching a '70s horrof film, and try to play the contrabass? Looks easy, but it isn't. It' Psychobilly stuff!

L'invasione degli Ultracorpi

Per alcuni una filosofia di vita, per altri un trend da seguire, per altri ancora una via fuga dagli stereotipi che tutti i giorni dilaniano con la banalità. Stiamo parlando di "Psychobilly".
Nasce come genere musicale da ispirazioni punk rock and rock 'n roll anni '50. Il termine è stato usato per la prima volta in una canzone di Johnny Cash "One piece at a time" in riferimento ad una Psychobilly Cadillac, in seguito i "The Cramps" lo utilizzarono abbinato al termine "rockabilly voodoo" per descrivere il loro genere sui volantini dei loro concerti. Ma il primo gruppo considerato psychobilly sono stati i Meteors, band inglese apolitica, erano gli anni '80.
Lo sviluppo del genere ha influenzato tanti giovani tanto da avere ormai tanti adepti, pur rimanendo un fenomeno di nicchia. Dal punto di vista della moda il genere è un concentrato di stili che prende spunto dal punk rock per i capelli colorati, piercing e creste, al rock 'n roll dei ciuffi alti e della brillantina di "Grease", agli anni '50 di Betty Page e Marylin Monroe al burlesque e allo stile circus.
Ecco un riassunto e poche regole per essere dei perfetti psychobilly.
Per le Donne: il leopardo è un must have! Pantaloni vita alta da Pin-up, rossetto rosso, frangia alla Betty Page, pois, boccoli color platino, eyeliner, fiori tra i capelli, tatuaggi in vista, calze a rete effetto "vintage".
I ragazzi sembrano gli amici di John Travolta in Grease, ma in versione più romantica alla Morrisey. I colori sono quelli del rosso ero e bianco, le camicie da vintage da bowling e i giubbini dei college americani, chiodi in pelle e pantaloni neri slim fit. Occhio al dettaglio: calzino bianco in mostra!
Anche nelle ultime passerelle gli stilisti sono stati ispirati a questa corrente: da Jil Sander a Versace, da Bottega Veneta a Lanvin e John Varvatos.
E ora ci resta che rispolverare il nostro giradischi, provare a ballare il wrecking, la loro danza, guardare qualche bel film horror anni '70 e iniziare un corso per imparare a suonare il contrabbasso. Sembra facile, ma non lo è: roba da psychobilly.
