Fashi-Off's trend: Polka Dots

Previsioni Meteo: fitta pioggia di pois si abbatteranno su le più fashioniste per tutta la stagione invernale.

Bianchi, Neri, effetto peluche, su tulle trasparenti, di vernice e effetto optical. Sono fantasiosi, adattabili a ogni tipo di tessuto, dai jacquard su maglieria, alla lana, dal voile alla seta; danno persino allegria su cromatismi d'effetto come il rosso e sanno essere eleganti nelle micro dimensioni su calze e guanti di pizzo. Caratteristici delle danze russe già a partire dalla fine del 1800 hanno conosciuto il loro massimo splendore intorno agli anni '50 diventando il pattern preferito per gli abiti a corolla delle signore Americane o per le più seducenti Pin-ups come Betty Page. Dior lo trasforma: da connotazioni folk a Haute Couture per abiti in chiffon da gran sera. Nel 1960 "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini" è il brano di un album che avrà molto successo, nella cover non poteva mancare il bikini giallo a pois.Gli anni passano ma loro sono sempre, più o meno, in auge. Franco Moschino li fa propri facendoli diventare quasi un simbolo del marchio, Carolina Herrera li mette dappertutto. Marni gioca con i piccoli pallini creando nuovi grafismi e una nuova pop art. I grandi couturier come Valentino e Yves Saint Laurent gli hanno adoperati per abiti da sogno come si può evincere dalle foto di Barbieri, Bailey per Vogue Italia. E come dimenticare l'infinità di micro pois sulla collezione Comme des Garçonne per H&M di qualche anno fa. Ma sicuramente la stagione dei polka dots è questa: tutto è partito dall'enorme successo dei sandali platform di Miu Miu della Pre-Fall 10, su colori forti come il rosso e il verde e ora non c'è servizio di moda redazionale che non li presenti. Marc Jacobs e Stella Mc Cartney ne hanno fatto il tema principale delle loro collezioni invernali. Ne vedremo tanti, colorati e divertenti su accessori e scarpe, per spezzare il solito grigiore voluto dalla stagione del grande freddo. Anche Fashi-off li ama e li ha voluti come sfondo del blog, così elegante e sofisticato, ton su ton. Milan Fashion Week Fashi-off's favorites: Jil Sander

Fashi-Off ha partecipato alla quarta giornata di sfilate alla MFW come giornalista per un giorno per Vogue.it. Il grande successo della quarta giornata di sfilate. Raf Simons ha confermato le aspettative di tutti. Moderno, giovane, una ventata di freschezza per una donna sofisticata e dal gusto minimal chic. Celebrazione assoluta della camicia bianca in tutte le sue declinazioni: in popline, organza e cotone. Viene interpretata soprattutto come abito da giorno e si conclude come abito da sposa: è ricca di tagli, inserti, e piegature. Le forme sono slim per pantaloni e giacche sartoriali. Le gonne sono longuette oltre il ginocchio. Colore principale è in assoluto il bianco candido,quasi “clinico”, interrotto da verdi smeraldi intensi e blu oltremare,Paisly in colori brillanti, stampe tartan nei toni dei lilla e stampa vichy su pantaloni asciutti e a vita alta. Curiosa la scelta di mescolare l’arte cubista dei volti di Picasso su pull lavorati a intarsio. I cappelli adornati di veletta sono stati creati in collaborazione con Stephen Jones; le borse sono medie e geometriche, mentre per le calzature si percepisce un tacito ritorno delle punte quadrate. La sfilata di Jil Sander è la dimostrazione della continua ricerca del concetto astratto di bellezza attraverso la cultura del minimalismo. Raf Simons ha raggiunto ancora una volta il suo obiettivo.

The big success of the 4th day of showcasing. Raf Simons has fulfilled everybody’s expectations. Modern and young, the collection brings a breath of fresh air in the wardrobe of a sophisticated woman with a penchant for minimal chic. It was a tribute to the white shirt offered in several fabrics: poplin, organza and cotton. Most often it’s reconfigured to be worn as a daywear dress and culminates at the end of the show in a wedding gown: it comes decorated with slits, inlays and pleating. Slim shapes characterize both pants and tailored blazers. Skirts are tubular in shape and hit below the knee. The main colour is an immaculate almost “clinical” white punctuated by deep emerald green, ultramarine blue, Paisley in vibrant hues, tartan patterns in lilac nuances and vichy prints on high-waisted lean trousers. Oddly intriguing the choice to teamPicasso’s cubist ceramics with tricot inlays on pullovers. Veil hats were created in collaboration with the genius of Stephen Jones; handbags are medium-sized and with geometrical shapes whereas patent-leather courts shoes in pastel colours seem to hint at a comeback of square tips. Jil Sander showcase is the embodiment of the continuous research into the abstract concept of Beauty via minimalism. Raf Simons has once again hit the target.

Woman in Fashion : Daphne Guinness

Ci sono persone che passano inosservate altre che lasciano senza dubbio il segno dopo il loro passaggio. Daphne Guinness fa certamente parte dell'ultima categoria. Alcuni si chiederanno chi sia questa eccentrica donna, i più informati e fashion followers sanno perfettamente che rappresenta una delle icone della moda contemporanea e d'avanguardia. Inconfondibile dallo stile "Gothic Aesthetic", svetta durante le sue apparizioni su tacchi 18, indossando collane disegnate da lei e Shaun Leane, raramente usa i colori prediligendo look in black and white, non tralasciando mai tocchi metallici e lurex anche nei suoi look più casual. David LaChapelle ha dichiarato che "lei è sintesi tra arte e moda, perché crede fermamente in ciò che è perfezione, nei designers più creativi, come Lee McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent perché loro sono artisti a 360°. Daphne è sempre se stessa". Colleziona opere d'arte e pezzi di Haute Couture, diventata amica e musa di visionari artisti come Karl Lagerfeld, Gareth Pugh e il grande amico McQueen, ha acquistato l'intera collezione di abiti di Isabella Blow per paura che un'asta li disperdesse e andassero perduti per sempre. La prima ad aver indossato con tanta nonchalance le "armadillo", le futuristiche scarpe di McQueen. La sola ad essersi preparata per il bello del Met nelle vetrine di Barneys a New York, la sola che ha messo in scena per il lancio della sua collezione di gioielli una finta "veglia funebre" con tanto di bacio d' addio del suo amico Tom Ford.
L'eccentricità certamente non manca ma, quando è fortemente voluta, solo per un'interpretazione meramente artistica della vita quotidiana, è accettabile. Per rendere omaggio alla sua forte ed eclettica personalità, l'esperta di moda Valerie Steele, ha deciso di dedicarle una mostra al Museum at Fit di New York dal 16 Settembre al 7 Gennaio; la sua collaborazione è stata fondamentale per la realizzazione delle installazioni tra specchi e garze effetto bondage. Un centinaio di abiti della sua collezione privata che includono creazioni di Dior, Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino, Lacroix, Alaïa, Gareth Pugh, l'hat maker Philip Treacy, ripercorreranno la sua classe e la sua personale inclinazione nei confronti dell'arte della moda d'avanguardia. La mostra si chiamerà semplicemente "Daphne Guinness", per ricordare che lei è tra le più ammirate icone di stile perché la sua vita è il suo palcoscenico.
