Fashi-Off and the Glam Rock Generation

When you tend to think to the '70s come to mind countless events. Whether we are talking about political events of those sociological thought is always to fashion, the costumes, the years of the Cultural Revolution which saw the development of cultures and movements without end. In the most transgressive city of the world-London-a group of young pacifists become dissatisfied with traditional values inflated by the hippie movement, are found to show a decadent teenage dissatisfaction, without specific political ideologies, with only the idea of a Freedom totally permissive customs. John Lennon called him the "rock and roll with lipstick", for all is recognized as a Glam Rock. Sequins, feathers and glitter, make-up, bouffant hair, bright colors, eclectic in its pure state, declared bisexuality are the characteristics that differentiate it from the Beat and Mod movements of the same year. And if some consider the former model, Marc Bolan of T-Rex, one of the founders of the movement, with David Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust" in 1972 and Gary Glitter are definitely the symbol. Unique stage presence, the statements of sexual freedom for Bowie will be the springboard to a successful worm. Forcibly kitsch, hedonistic and deeply alluring, pure and androgyny celebrates the cult of beauty as told by Wilde in his "The Picture of Dorian Gray." The Glam Rock has the task to express and talk about the modern era, how futurism apocalyptic catastrophe of psychedelic hallucinations. The United Kingdom has developed lots, the United States have only toyed with the idea thanks to the likes of Iggy Pop and his band the Stugges, New York Dolls, Alice Cooper and Kiss. By 1975 the movement was already in decline, the motion of DNA testing is a must, so giving rise to new influences that will throw the basis for the anarchist movement / punk or metal for the following years. The Glam Rock was definitely one of the most particular movements in the history of music and fashion and that is why even today after more than 30 years continues to inspire designers and artists. As the fashion show by Jean Paul Gaultier's SS11 season, as the cover of Vogue with Kate Moss or the video of Lady Gaga Poker Face or Glitter rain has fallen this year on MiuMiu shoes. It's nice to think that everything is so unpredictable and changeable, so terribly Rock. but so much Glam.

Fashi-Off's trend: Polka Dots

Weather Bulletin: heavy dots rain beat upon  the most fashionistas throughout the winter season.
Whites, Blacks, plush effect on transparent tulle, paint and optical effect. They are imaginative, adaptable to any type of fabric, the knitting of jacquard, wool, silk voile, even joy of giving effect colors like red and know how to be elegant in the micro size of stockings and lace gloves. Characteristic of Russian dances as early as the end of 1800 knew th eir heyday in the '50s becoming the preferred pattern for ladies' dresses, flared or the most attractive American Pin-ups such as Betty Page. Dior transforms: from folk connotations in Haute Couture dresses in chiffon for a long evening. In 1960 "Teenie Weenie Yellow Itsy Bitsy Polka Dot Bikini" is the song of an album that will be very successful, in the cover could not miss the yellow pois bikini. Years go by but they are always more or less in vogue. Franco Moschino makes them its own making them almost a symbol of the brand, Carolina Herrera puts them everywhere. Marni playing with small dots creating new graphic elements and a new pop art. The great couturiers like Valentino and Yves Saint Laurent's clothes were used to dream as you can see from the photos of Barbieri, Bailey for Vogue Italy. And who can forget the countless micro-dots on the Comme des Garçonne collection for H & M a few years ago. But surely the season of polka dots is this: it all started from the huge success of the platform sandals by Miu Miu Pre-Fall 10, of strong colors like red and green and now there is no editorial fashion shoot present them. Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney have made the main theme of their winter collections. We will see many colorful and fun accessories and shoes on, wanted to break the usual dullness of the season of great cold. Fashi-Off loves them and wanted them as the background of the blog, so elegant and sophisticated, tons of tons. And now a selection for you from the fashion shows and shopping online, because don't miss have them in our closet.
